ORA Concept
Operations Readiness & Assurance (or ORA™ as it is also commonly referred to) is a process, used mainly in Oil & Gas projects, to ensure the adequate preparation of the Asset Organisation for the eventual operation of that asset. It is employed throughout a project, from the earliest possible moment, to ensure that the Asset Operations Team is involved in making and validating key decisions that affect the availability, reliability, operability and maintainability (and therefore the viability, sustainability and profitability) of an asset..

Over the years of experience gained by ORA™ Ltd. it also became clear that the same concept could be applied equally to other types of project. The flexibility, modular architecture and logical structure of the ORA™ Solution lends itself easily to being adapted for any linear project.

In addition to the 'vanilla flavoured' Oil, Gas and Energy projects, ORA™ can now offer the ORA™ Solution for:

- Turnarounds;

-  Hydrogen (whether by Electrolysis, Anaerobic Digestion or Methane Reforming);

- Biofuels (from Biomass) including Sustainable Aircraft Fuels (SAF);

- Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage (CCUS);

- Gas to Power;

- Hydro-Electric Power;

- Wind Power;

- Aluminium Recycling;

- Decommissioning.

The templates used to apply the ORA™ Solution to any type of project are easy to create yet leave the basic functionality the same.

Value Drivers
Continued failure of projects to deliver the required production performance, compromised by less than optimal Operability, Maintainability and Reliability that subsequently leads to reduced Availability, the need for the involvement of the Operations discipline early in Projects has never been more important.

It is too late at Project handover, to realise that errors or omissions have been made during design, that key requirements have been overlooked or that the operator is not ‘Ready to Operate’. Deploying a robust ORA™ process is the only way to ensure that the necessary Operations Requirements have been considered during design and construction.

The need for a formal mechanism, to guide / direct the involvement of the Operations discipline in a project (or venture), can only be provided by a structured process, governed by an applicable International Standard. In the case of ORA, there is only one such standard (BS EN ISO 20815) and the ORA Solution is fully compliant.
