International
Standards and ORA™
BS EN ISO 9000 - Quality
Management
Operations
Readiness & Assurance (ORA™) is a management system for the
deployment of the ORA™ process in a structured project. The ISO
9000 standard defines as a set of international standards on quality
management and quality assurance developed to help companies effectively
document the quality system elements needed to maintain an efficient
quality system. By definition, this standard is intended to guide a
company to develop and maintain a robust, logical and structured process
by which to manage their business.
BS EN ISO 20815 - Production
Assurance and Reliability Management
Introducing the concept of production assurance within the systems and
operations associated with exploration drilling, exploitation,
processing and transport of petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas
resources,. ISO 20815:2008 covers upstream (including sub-sea),
midstream and downstream facilities and activities.
ISO 20815
focuses on Production
Assurance of oil and gas production, processing and associated
activities, including analysis of reliability and maintenance.
This standard prescribes the use of
processes and activities, requirements and guidelines for systematic
management, effective planning, execution and operation of production
assurance and reliability technology to achieve a cost-effective
solutions over the life cycle of an asset-development project..
Although the title of this standard
infers that it should be used in the OPERATE phase, the content
is very specific about the need to deploy it throughout all phases of a
project. As such, it is very close to a standard specifically for ORA.
BS EN ISO 55000 - Asset
Integrity
To an Asset Operator, it is essential that Asset Integrity is
established during the early design process. Asset Integrity is built
into the asset during construction and demonstrated during the delivery
and handover stages. An Asset Integrity Plan, processes and procedures
can then be implemented to ensure that Asset Integrity can be maintained
throughout the life of the asset.
The ORA Process follows the
development of Asset Integrity throughout the Project phases to provide
assurance to the Asset Operator that the key objectives of ISO55000 can
and will be achieved and that Operations Excellence is possible
BS EN ISO 14001 -
Environmental
Management Systems
This standard is intended to
provide organizations with a framework to protect the environment and
respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with
socio-economic needs. It specifies requirements that enable an
organization to achieve the intended outcomes it sets for its
environmental management system.
This systematic approach to
environmental management can provide senior management with information
to build success over the long term and create options for contributing
to sustainable development.
