BS EN ISO 9000 - Quality
Management
Operations
Readiness & Assurance (ORA) is a management system for the
deployment of the ORA process in a structured project. The ISO
9000 standard defines as a set of international standards on quality
management and quality assurance developed to help companies effectively
document the quality system elements needed to maintain an efficient
quality system. By definition, this standard is intended to guide a
company to develop and maintain a robust, logical and structured process
by which to manage their business.
The following flow chart, reproduced
from the ISO9000 standard, serves to illustrate the basic approach and
feedback loops that typifies an ISO9000 process:

Management of the ORA
Process
An ORA
system is a robust process to implement and control the principles and
practices of ORA in any project. As with any true management system,
the system applies the principles of ISO 9000 to control the process.
ISO 9000 and ORA
Policy
The Corporate Management System adopted by most client systems is
modelled on the ISO 9000 process. At this level, provided that this is
the case, the policies, plans, and business processes of the client
provide the structure both reflected by, and employed in, the ORA
Solution.
Organisation
The organisational structure used by client organisations is also
reflected in the organisational structure of the ORA
Process to enhance the synergies between the two systems.
Planning & Implementation
The ORDITA, (the Operations Readiness Database Implementation & Tracking
Application), contains key content from the ORA
Information System, aligned with the project using the project phases.
The database facilitates the
generation of various output used to implement ORA
on a project, including an ORA
Plan and an ORA
Schedule.
The ORA
schedule becomes part of the Integrated Project Plan (IPP), aligning the
ORA
activities with the project timeline and milestones.
Performance Measurement
ORDITA is used to record progress of the relevant activities and tasks
on a day-to-day basis, together with other comments and data to support
that information.
Performance Review
ORDITA is also used to generate the various reports, such as the
performance dashboard which provide information in a pre-determined
format by which the implementation of the ORA
Process and the performance of ORA Team can be easily and accurately
evaluated.
Audit
Auditing the implementation of the ORA
Process, utilising the same tool that is used by ORA
Practitioners to monitor and record progress and to generate reports, is
very easy to do in a structured manner.
The dashboard output serves as a
very effective auditing tool which both speeds up the audit process and
increases the accuracy of the audit process. |
